BELLA VITA JEWELRY

108 6th St, Downtown Little Rock, AR, 2026

Front Door, Entry Alcove (+ Ceiling), Front Steps, Inside Floor Square / Rug Illusion

Bella Vita Jewelry is a handmade jewelry and gift shop located just off Main St. in Downtown Little Rock, AR. The transformation of Bella Vita's entryway made this my fourth public art piece in Little Rock! (Thank you Little Rock! I have so much love for you!) You can find my other pieces outside Sweet Home in SoMa District, inside Workflow by Evo in North Little Rock, and I completed a piece for a permanent public installation yet to be installed/unveiled along Main St!

Per the client's request- this mural was inspired by traditional Scandanavian floral folklore art with a nostolgic psychedelic color palette. To refresh this facade, the door was coated with a warm creamy white paint and embellished with whimsical floral borders in a retro color palette. I used the pre-existing insets to determine colorblocking, which visually elongated the space both ways, making the entry feel even more elaborate and grand.

A painted 'fake' rug cascades out the door and continues a few feet inside the front door. Deep turquoise as the rug base grounds the piece and painted tassels help bring the illusion to life. MADDHOUSE's tag is referenced on the right side of the bottom stair.

Interaction and incorporation of existing environment is always important to me in my work. Care and consideration go into every detail. My favorite example in this piece is how the bottom lock of the left door handle finishes off the swirl of the vine above it.
