GREETINGS FROM SOMA

‘Greetings from SoMa’ is inspired by the classic postcard design- with a modern twist. ’Greetings from’ is in a soft, friendly cursive juxtaposed by ‘SoMa’ bold & center, coming at you in 3D graphics. Odes to SoMa’s history are adorned throughout the mural. A beautiful flower frames ‘Greetings’ to honor the historic Bernice Garden. The ‘501’ pool balls shoutout the SoMa 501 non-profit that organized the mural, alongside representing Midtown Billiard’s resilience being a longtime local business through ups & downs on SoMa.

There are two ‘word stickers’ on the postcard- a ‘LOCAL’ heart (because SoMa loves local!) and a ‘WISH YOU WERE HERE’ burst. The address line is addressed to ‘Main Street, Little Rock, Arkansas’, adding another locational element to the piece. A rainbow adds motion to the bottom left corner, as well as an inclusive element that will also be a great photo-op during SoMa Pride. Another famous SoMa event, SoMardi Gras, is represented in the first stamp on the left. Other stamps full of symbolism as to what you might find strolling the SoMa district, such as gift shops or Loblolly Ice Cream, line the top of the mural! A fresh, creamy base is framed by borders that mimic the classic USPS postcard edge, substituting their classic red, white, and blue for more vibrant, on brand colors. 

This mural encourages multiple photo-ops! You could get a full mural photo, a close up with SoMa itself, pose your pup under the rainbow, take pictures of your favorite local food and products in front of the ‘LOCAL’ heart, or send ‘WISH YOU WERE HERE’ to your best friend!
