TIGERS BREATH
WAKAAN Music Festival, Mullberry Mountain, AR, 2023
The ‘Tiger’s Breath’ mural turns repeating imagery through out MADDHOUSE work into a kaleidoscopic burst of colors & eyelashes.
The title ‘Tiger’s Breath’ is inspired by a pranayama breathing yoga practice that empowers your throat and chest through deep breath & facial expressions. Great for alleviating stress, igniting confidence, and a little laugh (or cry, or scream). The furry creatures (up for personal interpretation, even tho I called them tigers) in the mural are mimicking the ‘Lion’s Breath’ face, evoking full self expression & breathing a psychedelic life force into existence around them.
‘Tiger’s Breath’ was done as a ‘live’ mural at WAKAAN Music Festival at Mullberry Mountain in Arkansas’ Ozark National Forest. A ‘live’ mural gets painted live at an event so people can watch it evolve!
Since this was a live mural and there is a festival tradition of trading trinkets, MADDHOUSE custom designed 125 sparkly (and eyelashed, of course) rubber duckies with spraypainted MADDHOUSE tags on the bottom to give away. We turned this into a photo project that documented the evolution of the mural throughout the festival. Every person that got a rubber ducky took a photo with the mural too! A condensed version of that project is displayed below, and the full gallery can be found on the MADDHOUSE Style LLC Facebook page photo gallery.
